Today I'm really wanting to hear from anyone at Washington
University. Email me.

A relaxing week staying with my parents. The pictures are
of sunny Eccleshall along with some of Bloomsbury yesterday.

Tragic to see what the people of Boscastle have gone through last
week. It's been a regular holiday destination since I was a kid. For
reasons too complicated to explain, my mother was once known locally
as the 'Boscastle Loony'. Unfortunate turn of phrase on the trailer
for the comedy series set in a Cornish village which is about to start:
"You know us Cornish, we go with the flow...". This is a
picture of the big rock at the end of harbour which bears a striking
resemblance to Queen Victoria.

I laughed out loud when I came across this on dogbomb
- great stuff.
"I
was given a pedo-meter recently. Someone thought it would help my
fitness.
I
reset this contraption, and did a simple walk down to the local shop
and back. I eagerly checked out the little digital display on the
front of my meter... one-hundred-and-sixty-two!
I
had no idea I was living so close to so many kiddy-fiddling bastards.
I'll be moving out of the area as soon as possible.
Thanks
to the guy who gave me the pedo-meter. I'll certainly be improving
my fitness by kicking the hell out of the pedophiles in the area."

A very enjoyable day with my new friend Adam in Soho. Lots
of chat, drinking wine and good fun. I still don't quite understand
what Adam does for a living but I'm hoping he's going to go explain
all to me next week.

Whenever
I meet up with Jonny mad stuff happens. Last time, following a meal
in soho, we ended up in an underground studio watching Paul McCartney's
unfinished secret works. We spent tonight in the company of Jonny's
friend Aldo
who owns a few restaurants around town. He was a charming chap and
his grub was great.

A fantastic few days away down in Brighton.
A lot of relaxing, reading and paddling. I have to admit to having
a great time at a Big Brother party on Friday night where Tim really
entered into the fun by dressing as Nadia. On Saturday night we had
a great laugh with a group of students that we met in a trendy bar
near Preston Park.
While
I was down there I read The Restraint of Beasts by Magnus Mills which
follows the life of three fencers from Scotland as they travel around
erecting fences, eating sausages and accidentally killing people.
If you enjoy Kafka you should get yourself a copy. Click
for pictures.

My
dream has come true - we made it onto
Chavscum. When Tim, Rebecca and I stayed with my parents last
week I thought it would be fun to dress as chavs, pull funny faces
and photograph each other. It worked.

Graffiti
artist Banksy
revealed his latest work in Clerkenwell tonight. He's great.

We are off to the sun for some laughter and fun
We’ve got two weeks away on a summer holiday
We are going by plane down to beautiful Spain
And as we travel along we will sing this happy song:
Stamp
your feet
Bang your head
Eat pineapple
Wet your bed
Drop your pants
Sniff some glue
Booze and shag and go to loo
Booze
and shag, go to loo
That is what we’re gonna do
Booze and shag, go to loo
That is what we’re gonna do
Stamp
your feet
Clap your hands
Get your bottom full of sand
Get your head painted blue
Booze
and shag and go to loo
That
is what we’re gonna do
Booze and shag, go to loo
That is what we’re gonna do
Booze and shag and go to loo

A great, relaxing day in Acton at Sam's followed by a drunken
evening at the Ealing Jazz Festival, which Ian tells me is referred
to as the Ailing jazz festival in some circles. Well, we had a great
time. I'm not a natural cat lover, but who could resist Sam's lovely
pussy?
